RPS Renewable Power Stations for Caravans

PETROL GENERATOR USE WITH THE RPS 3000

RPS 3000 Accepts AC charging via any Grey colored Anderson connection on the unit, making it possible to plug in an AC charger - up to 50 Amps (600w). The AC charger in turn can be powered by any small generator  to provide constant charge into the RPS - Simultaniously or independently to SOLAR and DCDC inputs when unavailable.

HOW THE RPS 3000 WILL BENEFIT USING A GENERATOR COMPARED TO JUST PLUGGING THE GENERATOR INTO YOUR VAN

Whilst collecting energy from even a small petrol powered generator, Your RPS 3000 will still be able to deliver nearly 3000w of Power to your caravan -  (So long as you have some energy stored in your batteries to cover the extra power in burst situations).

The RPS 3000 will keep collecting energy from all sources simultaniously. An AC charger will be required for Generator Connection.  30 - 50 Amps is a good reccommended size to marry up to a 1000w Generator for example.

RPS 3000 INPUT PORTS ARE ALL ANDERSONS AND COLOR CODED

BLACK - DCDC Energy Input (50Amps)

RED - Solar (50 Amps input at up to 100 Volts)

GREY - AC/ Generator input - Up to 50 Amps - via AC Charger (Optional).

Ideal for Sliding into Ute Tubs, The Back of Wagons or into purpose built slide in compartments in Trade canopies... These units are Plug and Play - saving money on customisation and saving space.

ABOUT THE RPS 3000 FOR CARAVANS

Renewable Power Stations can Deliver 240Volt Power while simultaniously charging from your Vehicles Alternator (DCDC) ,Solar Panel  Inputs and any AC Input (Even a Petrol Generator) - Making them Ideal for Use as UPS for Caravans wishing to extend their off grid power supply.

BATTERIES FOR THE RPS

Lifepo 4 Batteries have excellent long term charge and discharging (cycling) properties - (Typically showing only 10-20% efficiency drops after 5000+ Cycles) Allowing them to Discharge and Recharge multiple times a day at low investment costs and without techincal issue. Forever Powered Australia Reccommends 400Amphrs of Lithium Batteries alongside an RPS unit installed in a vehicle with a 400w solar panel, or a 600Amphr of Batteries with a 600w solar system on vehicle.

RPS POWER - THE OUTPUTS - THE FACTS

The RPS 3000 delivers 3000VA (Close to 3000w) of Constant load power - It can handle peak power outputs of up around 6000w for 20 Seconds.

The Unit has enough in most cases to run caravan Air conditioning units, Freestanding 240V fridge and other appliances simultaniously.

Simply Plug the caravan into the RPS 3000 using the built in 15Amp Power Socket and your caravan will behave the same as if it was plugged in at a caravan park.

With a typical 400Amphr Battery pack installed and full, the Stored Energy in the RPS 3000 will only run 1000w appliances for around 4 hours - its charging speed is what you rely on - so its solar and DCDC chargers are really important to getting that power back again asap.

PREPARING YOUR CARAVAN FOR OFF GRID POWER USING AN RPS 3000

Designed Primarily to reside inside the Tow Vehicle, the RPS 3000 will passively collect and store Solar and DCDC power in the vehicles installed Lifepo 4 batteries - While you drive and or while the vehicle is in sunlight - Customers with 'House batteries' and Inverters in their caravans that are able to meet their power consumption needs for at least one day (stand alone) will enjoy the best results with the RPS 3000  when using it as a 'top up energy collection unit" ie - collecting extra energy with the Tow vehicle when unhooked, and 'Replentishing' drained Caravan house batteries when plugged in each day.

Use of the RPS 3000 with solar and DCDC power is well understood, with many people already familiar with the Victron Solar MPPT and DCDC chargers used in the RPS units... However AC Charging ports are also included in the unit and can be used for added Energy collection via Generator if needed.
