How do I link my caravan up to the RPS 2000  once I arrive at my campsite?

You get out your 15Amp Power lead - Plug it into the caravan,  then plug it in to the RPS  2000 . Flip the Switch on the RPS 2000 - and the power is On. Your caravan is now powered and charging up.

Can I Link the Tow Vehicle to the Caravan using Anderson cables ?

Yes -There is a 75Amp Anderson port  as well as a smaller 50AMp Anderson port spare at the rear of the RPS unit designed to Plug your caravan straight into the RPS Unit and Link it to your caravan's 12 Volt system and DCDC charger if it has one. This is a good way to transfer charge if the caravan is close to the car...If its a long way apart your better off using the 15Amp 240Volt lead and turing the inverter on.

Charging times for the RPS 2000 when linked via Anderson directly to the caravan will change - This is becuase its charging the van at the same time.

Please note that hooking up the RPS2000 to your caravans DCDC charger while driving is normal practice and we have not taken this into consideration in our advertised charging times, -  as  linking them together like his will ''Take' energy from the RPS while its charging and thus also increase the RPS Charging time till full... Typically both caravan and RPS batteries will hit float charge together  if roughly the same capacity (200amphr) when connected and  driving, and the time taken will vary depending on the size and type of batteries in the caravan.

Can I run a fridge as well in the Tow vehicle?

as well as the 'spare'  50Amp Anderson Port at the rear of all RPS 2000 Units. there is another one on the front -  Typically the 50amp one is used to plug in any vehicle fridge that you may use, and conversion to Engel, wayco, ARB , National Luna Fridge Connections are available from many retailers.

I need more Anderson ports for other gear in the vehicle ?

Rather than provide the RPS 2000 with more ports than average Joe requires, we chose to allow customers needing more ports to choose ' custom console' units...

Will the RPS unit work with my caravan... Its Old/New/chinese/ home made?.

The Caravan will react to the RPS 2000units when plugged in via their 15AMp lead  the same way as if they were plugged in at a caravan park.

The battery size in the caravan does not have to match the RPS battery size

The Battery TYPE in the caravan can be any type

Mains chargers in the van should not exceed 60AMP or 1000w - so as not to exceed RPS download limits.

When Plugged in to the RPS 2000 - what appliances can I use?

You can use any number of appliances at once, as long as they dont add up to more than 2000w when used at once. Experiment with it, if you overload the RPS it will shut down automatically , reset and await you turning the reset switch back on with no harm done. Just remember also to turn off whatever appliance overloaded it first :) or you'll be doing it again.

Please note:

If Use of internal caravan appliances combined with the caravans charging systems   overloads the RPS 2000 - It just trips  the 'automatic ' Inverter overload  switch... If  this happens ,  simply turn off the appliance in the van - wait 20 seconds for the inverter to restart -  turn the RPS 2000  switch back on, and it will re-start as usual.

Can I run the Twin DC/DC model of the RPS 2000 ? Can my cars alternator handle it?
The vast majority of 4wd vehicles cannot deliver enough power via their alternator to run 2 x 30 Amp victron DC chargers, (Their actual outputs are closer to 90 Amps at 12 volts together ) - so we'd reccommend the single DC Chaging unit for the majority of customers. Its well and truly plenty anyway.

The RPS 2000 is built to accept the second charger  ready to install  at any time you wish to up the power - or if your updated vehicle can handle it. The Dual charger wiring loom will soom be listed on our website for bolt in installation yourself using a small flat head screwdriver and 6mm Allen key.

For details on your particular vehicles alternator performance Spec, go to your vehicle manufacturers website and check advised alternator output limits.

Whats the difference between a Renewable Power Station and a Portable Power station?

Please see the above links on Portable Power stations and Remote power stations for full details - In short Renewable Power stations have much bigger DC/DC chargers and SOLAR chargers, with such do not need Mains power to re-charge.
